Dr. Linda S. Botello

Dr. Linda S. Botello has over 21 years of experience caring for her patients. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Michael’s College, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Botello is passionate about advanced eye care. She specializes in dry eye treatment and specialty contact lenses, including multifocal, rigid gas permeable, hybrid, and scleral lenses. She also holds a certification in CRT vision reshaping technology. 

  

Dr. Botello is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometry (MSO), the American Optometric Association (AOA), and Vision Source. She received the honor of being the Who’s Who Optometrist of the Year in 2013. 

  

Born and raised in Stonington, CT, Dr. Botello spent summers working in Mystic and was deeply involved in her community. She took part in field hockey, 4-H, and various community groups, including her church youth group, student council, and music honor society. A turning point in her life came during a high school trip to Washington, D.C., where she met optometrists at a conference, sparking her passion for the field and inspiring her career in optometry. 

  

One of Dr. Botello’s most memorable patient stories shows her strong diagnostic skills. A patient came in feeling unwell, and during the exam, Dr. Botello noticed something serious. She quickly sent the patient to the emergency room. There, doctors found a 99% blocked carotid artery, which could have caused a major stroke. Thanks to her fast action, the patient received treatment and fully recovered. This story highlights Dr. Botello’s dedication to patient care. 

  

When she’s not at the office, Dr. Botello enjoys spending time with her family, playing piano, gardening, and walking along the beach. She and her husband take pride in raising five boys, all of whom excel in wrestling at the national level. Dr. Botello also finds time to volunteer, including teaching art history in her children’s school system and helping with youth wrestling.
